Caroline Kennedy, who was hoping to fill Clinton's vacant Senate seat, has formally withdrawn her bid due to a personal reason. Kennedy claims her choice is not associated with her sick uncle, Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy, who was diagnosed with a progressive brain tumor this past May. Sharon Osbourne's Smackdown!

In January 2009, during the taping of the reunion special of VH1’s Rock of Love: Charm School, Sharon Osborne had a a physical altercation with a former contestant. The less than "charming" fight occured after perpetually bikini-clad cast member Megan Hauserman began hurling insults at Sharon, implying that she is only a celebrity because of her husband's celebrity status. Sharon responded by pouring a drink on Hauserman and allegedly pulling out half of her hair weave, among other minor injuries. A police report was subsequently filed by Hauserman, but the police did not file charges at the time. Apparently Hauserman is unaware that Sharon met Ozzy when his career was tanking, and that it was only after she stepped in to become his manager that his star began to rise again.
